Master Program "E-Learning and Media Education" (ELMEB)

The study program combines ICT and media theory with applied knowledge of audio-visual and digital media creation. Graduates of the Master Program “E-Learning und Medienbildung” (E-Learning and Media Education) acquire the relevant knowledge and skills to produce classical audiovisual educational media, as well as to create web-based learning environments. Furthermore, they are able – in a professional manner – to conceive, set up, run and evaluate technology-enhanced formats, in-service training interventions and other projects in educational institutions. Graduates are, in addition, prepared for further developmental work in the field of theory, process and methods of E-Learning and Media Education.

To enroll in the program, students need to have finished undergraduate studies with a bachelor degree. Since a substantial amount of literature and courses in provided in German, students need to submit proofs of knowledge in the German language (via TestDaf or DSH-certification). In addition, a sufficient level of reading and speaking competences in the English language is advantageous. Although smaller parts of the study program is provided online, a large part is delivered via face-to-face education on location in Heidelberg. The study program can be taken in full-time or part-time mode.
