The project investigates the effectiveness and practicability of digital learning games (here for the domain of reading) for pupils with reading difficulties in the classroom setting. In a pre-post follow-up study, pupils with a claim to a special educational and counselling offer in the learning focus area are supported with the digital learning game Meister Cody Namagi . As a comparison group, pupils are supported with the reading-while-listening approach . In addition, the reading performance of a non-supported control group is recorded at all three measurement points. Short-term and long-term effects on the reading fluency and reading comprehension of the supported pupils are expected. Furthermore, it will be investigated whether and how the family language, the receptive vocabulary and the behaviour of the pupils influence the effectiveness of this measure.
