The project "Foreign Language Teacher Training Capacity Development as a Way to Ukraine's Multilingual Education and European Integration" (MultiEd) is funded as part of the Erasmus + (CBHE) programme. The aim of MultiEd is to modernise foreign language education in Ukraine, to bring it into line with European standards and, in particular, to improve training in English. The project is managed by the University of Tartu, Narva College, Estonia, with Oleksandra Golovko in charge of the project. A total of 14 international partners are involved in the project.
The aims of the project are to modernise the curricula in the Bachelor's and Master's degree courses for teacher training students in foreign languages, to incorporate new teaching methods, particularly in the area of CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), and to expand the CLIL-based English courses in Ukraine. The project also aims to support the development of national strategies for the promotion of multilingualism in education and the internationalisation of higher education in Ukraine.
An intensive and direct exchange takes place in the form of workshops, seminars and reciprocal study visits, in which the Heidelberg University of Education provides important input thanks to its profile focussing on teacher training.
