Background
In the structural and development plan for the years 2017 to 2021, the University of Education is further sharpening its profile and aligning it with changing educational policy and social challenges. These central elements of the profile also concern the internationalisation strategy. The University of Education is committed to the guiding principle of cooperation - locally and globally. It expands its scope of experience and impact through cooperation with local, regional and international partners. It accepts the challenges of global citizenship.
By Senate resolution of 20 December 2017, the Center for International Teacher Education was established and opened with a ceremony on 4 July 2018.
In its meeting of 16.12.2020, the Senate of Heidelberg University of Education adopted the statutes of the Center for International Teacher Education (CITE).
CITE supports the key objective of securing and developing the international connectivity of the University of Education by implementing the measures decided upon in the course of the re-audit "Internationalisation of Universities". The area of strategy and development of internationalisation is to be expanded in the coming years and brought together in the CITE.
