Concept and Objectives

In the future, all students should be able to study abroad in the 4th semester as an option. For students of English and French, the semester abroad should become a compulsory part of the curriculum. The project "ProMobiLGS" will create the basis for this.

To this end, a network is being established with universities abroad, at which courses are offered that cover both educational science and the subjects studied in Heidelberg, as well as interdisciplinary courses in accordance with the cross-curricular area of studies (ÜSB) at Heidelberg University of Education.

The project currently starts with five partner universities in Switzerland, Turkey, and the USA. During the programme period, the number of partner universities is to be increased in such a manner that as many students as possible with different subject combinations can study abroad.

Through reciprocal guest lectureships and workshops, contacts with the partner universities are deepened professionally, and teachers and administrators are included, thus creating added value for the international orientation of the courses offered and for internal and external networking. This lays the foundation for a sustainable continuation of the measures introduced even after the end of the project.

The implementation of the project is assigned to the Center for International Teacher Education (CITE).
