The Heidelberg University of Education (HUoE) is a competence center for educational science research and teaching in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. It features a research profile that centers around four research foci.

Graduate School

Promoting young researchers right from the start is a central priority at the Heidelberg University of Education. This becomes visible not only in the large number of award-winning, research-oriented (student) theses but also in the purposeful promotion of young researchers:

The Graduate School was established in 2014. It provides an interdisciplinary environment for the further scientific qualification of young researchers in educational and pedagogical science at the Heidelberg University of Education. The Graduate School stands for a sustainable advancement of young researchers (doctoral candidates and postdocs) and offers its members various, comprehensive support: Young researchers benefit from an exclusive, interdisciplinary training program, individual mentoring by experienced professionals from science and industry, coaching opportunities, and much more.

Educational Science Profile

The research at the Heidelberg University of Education is characterized by an interdisciplinary variety of educational topics as well as by a nationally and internationally visible focus on educational science. We are especially committed to the topic of inclusion in educational contexts. Thereby we understand inclusion as the individual promotion of all learners. This requires a high level of awareness for their respective talents as well as their potential special needs and living conditions.
