Promoting women in science is a central concern of the Heidelberg University of Education. In the following you will find information on scholarships and funding programmes specifically addressing female (young) researchers.
MuT- Mentoring and Training is an acronym; the actual German word ‘Mut’ means ‘courage’.
MuT is a program for the advancement of highly qualified female young researchers in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg. Women aiming at a full professorship are supported in realizing their skills and making more effective use of their career opportunities.
The program provides participants with the opportunity to establish supportive relationships with experienced researchers, to overcome structural barriers, and to gain knowledge and experience in the academic field.
The program is designed for women with a post-doctoral lecture qualification (Privatdozentinnen), women in the stage of their post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitandinnen), junior professors, postdocs, and doctoral candidates.

The Brigitte-Schlieben-Lange-Program aims to increase the number of women with children who are eligible for professorships by improving the compatibility of the qualification phase with family responsibilities. It replaces the re-entrance scholarship, which was granted until the end of 2006. The program is designed to support female young researchers and artists during their qualification for a professorship and to offer a greater planning security during this time period.
