Wikimedia Deutschland/Open Science Fellows Program
Application deathline: July 30th of 2020
With the Open Science Fellows Program, Wikimedia Deutschland promotes Free Knowledge in academia to initiate and improve the exchange of expertise among academic researchers from various disciplines and between academia and society. This also involves addressing the question of how accessible Open Science really is and to what extent principles of diversity and Knowledge Equity can be strengthened. As a global social movement, Wikimedia is particularly committed to knowledge and communities that have been excluded by power structures and privileges. The program is aimed at academics and scientists from all disciplines. We support our Fellows with structured mentoring, capacity building and networking opportunities as well as a stipend. In turn, Fellows are encouraged to integrate principles of Open Science into their own scientific work and to act as ambassadors of Free Knowledge - both within and beyond academia.
The next round of the program will start in October. Applications for the eight-month fellowship can be submitted until 30.07.2020. As in previous years, several academic partners are participating in the program with workshops and inputs, including the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB), the Göttingen State and University Library (SUB), Open Knowledge Maps and the University Library of Freie Universität Berlin.
