Good data management is a fundamental element of high quality research. Data management planning right from the start of your research project can save you valuable time as you proceed with your project. Data management planning also increases the quality of your own data as you work with it. It further ensures that the data will be accessible for replication and validation as well as available to be used in future research and for educational purposes. Moreover, researchers are increasingly expected and mandated to practice good data management and to include information thereon into their grant applications as well as to make their data publicly available after the project ends. Accordingly, data management is not only a good scientific practice but it is more and more often necessary to meet funding, government policy, ethical and requirements for publicly-funded research projects.

Through a combination of lecture, exercises, and interactive activities, this 2-day workshop will give you a general understanding of the various aspects of research data management. Various relevant topics related to research data management will be covered such as the FAIR data principles, documentation and metadata, organization of research data, data sharing, preservation, and licensing etc.

The workshop is aimed at all researchers of all levels at the Heidelberg University of Education and those aspiring to become researchers. It will take place on October, 4th and 5th. Registration is requested via www.ph-heidelberg.de/graduate-school.

To prepare the course according to your needs, please send a short e-mail on your motivation for participating in the workshop, your level of knowledge on and experience with data management, as well as questions you would like to have answered to maddox☞ Bitte fügen Sie an dieser Stelle ein @ ein ☜ph-heidelberg☞ Bitte fügen Sie an dieser Stelle einen Punkt ein ☜de until 23 September.
