Digital Lecture Series: "Technological (Content) Knowledge and Critical Media Literacy"

A digital lecture by Prof. Dr. Marco Kalz (Heidelberg University of Education).

In times of an ever-increasing speed of technological innovation the ability to take a critical media perspective more and more depends on the knowledge about technology and its affordances and implications. In his talk, Marco Kalz will develop the idea of media literacy from the perspective of the TPACK model and will provide some examples cases for technological (content) knowledge and the ability to take a critical perspective pointing to some future challenges for curriculum development for teacher education and beyond.

The online-event is part of the joint interdisciplinary initiative by the Heidelberg School of Education and Teachers College (Columbia University). The lecture will take place on Tuesday, November 2nd at 6 p.m. The lecture will be held in English and via Zoom; no prior registration required.
