The Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM for students of the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung is awarded annually at the Heidelberg University of Education and the cooperating universities abroad. The scholarship is an award for particularly qualified students; special emphasis is placed on social and intercultural competence. The foundation supports study visits for international students at the Heidelberg University of Education and students from Baden-Württemberg at a university abroad.
The aim of the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM for students is to promote the international exchange of highly qualified German and international students. The ties between the universities of the state of Baden-Württemberg and their foreign partners are to be developed and strengthened in accordance with the principle of reciprocity.
The Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM thus contributes to the global networking of people associated with Baden-Württemberg.
The continuous expansion of this network is supported by the Regional Chapters and the Association of Scholarship Holders and Friends of the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM.

Applications for a Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM are made via the online portal BWS World. An individual profile must be created.

Only complete applications will be accepted.
There is no legal entitlement to a scholarship.
The success of the application is decided by an independent committee appointed by the Senate of the University of Education, which forwards the application to the Baden-Württemberg-Stiftung in the form of a selection proposal.
Students have certain obligations during a study visit. These relate to both organisational procedures and academic requirements.
