The Heidelberg Centre for Migration Research and Transcultural Pedagogy (Hei-MaT) is an academic institution of the Institute of Educational Science at Heidelberg University of Education. With its fields of activity and programmes, it acts as a bridge between science and innovative practice. This is why networking structures are being established in the areas of research, education, society and integration.
The centre offers additional qualifications for students and interested parties, such as "Intercultural Learning Support", "Migration and Diversity", "Democracy Education" and family-oriented courses such as "Lay Helpers for Intercultural Parent and Family Support".
About the team
The centre initiates, designs and evaluates projects, measures and initiatives that pursue research questions on necessities and needs in educational practices characterised by diversity. The aim is to provide the best possible support for people's development. In this way, educational and social sciences as well as interdisciplinary research landscapes are to be innovatively enriched.
