You will graduate from the Master's degree programme in Special Education with a Master of Education (M. Ed.). This degree qualifies you, in particular, to enter the preparatory service in the field of special education. In addition, it is also possible to work in an educational field such as educational and family counselling, all-day school supervision or in educational centres.

If you would like to teach as a special education teacher , you must complete the 18-month preparatory service (Referendariat). Only after you have successfully completed the preparatory service can you work as a teacher in the state school service.

Once a year, the Student Orientation and Counselling Service (SOBS ) organises the information event "Ab ins REF!", at which contact persons from the offices involved will provide students studying for a Master's degree in Special Education with detailed advice on the preparatory service.

An academic career or doctorate is also possible after the Master of Education. The Graduate School of the PH Heidelberg will be happy to support you.
