The International Office coordinates and supports all forms of international mobility at Heidelberg University of Education. The focus is on internationalisation, international cooperation and exchange programmes for students, doctoral candidates, teaching staff and employees. The aim is to facilitate international experiences, promote professional exchange and strengthen the university's global network.

Want to gain experience abroad, get to know other countries and improve your language skills? The International Office can help you plan and organise a stay abroad - be it a semester abroad or an internship abroad.

Heidelberg attracts students from all over the world every year - whether for a semester abroad or a full degree programme. Our university offers a wide range of opportunities to gain experience in an international environment and become part of our vibrant academic community.

The promotion of international mobility and networking plays a central role in the further development of teaching and research. Various programmes offer lecturers the opportunity to spend time abroad, strengthen international cooperation and gain new impetus for their own teaching. The International Office assists lecturers by providing advice, organisational support and suitable funding programmes.

The International Office enables doctoral students to utilise the opportunities offered by Erasmus+ for research and qualification. The focus is on further education and training programmes that deepen specialist expertise, enable international experience and strengthen intercultural skills.

The aim is to enrich the doctoral phase with additional qualifications and open up new prospects for academic careers.

The International Office offers employees the opportunity to take part in international further education and training programmes via Erasmus+. The aim is to expand professional competences, learn new working methods and promote intercultural exchange at the university.

The Center for International Teacher Education (CITE) coordinates strategic internationalisation at Heidelberg University of Education with a clear academic focus. CITE is assigned to the Vice-Rectorate for Studies, Teaching and Internationalisation and the International Office (AAA) and is anchored as a department within the AAA. The management is responsible for day-to-day operations and develops concepts for internationalisation. An academic advisory board supports CITE in strategic planning and project development.
