On the Master's degree programme in Digital Education for Sustainable Development , you will complete an internship that facilitates the transfer between academic content and practical fields of application. You will have the opportunity to set your own priorities and gain experience in institutions, organisations or projects that are active in the context of education for sustainable development and digitalisation. The aim of the internship is to combine theoretical knowledge with practice-orientated questions and to further develop professional skills in a targeted manner.
You can register your thesis as soon as you have achieved at least 60 ECTS credits. Two examiners must be appointed. Further information on the framework conditions for your thesis can be found in the study and examination regulations.

Once you have successfully passed your final examination, you can apply to the Academic Examination Office for your graduation documents:

If you are de-registered after completing your degree programme, you will be provided with certificates of your period of study via the CAMPUS portal:
- Notice of de-registration (shows the reason for and effective date of de-registration)
- Certificate of de-registration (shows your degree programme and periods of study)
- Certificate of periods of study for submission to the German Pension Insurance (according to form V0510 DRV)

You will complete the Master's degree programme "Digital Education for Sustainable Development" with a Master of Arts (M.A.).
The broad-based and interdisciplinary degree programme as well as the early integration with professional practice fields opens up a wide range of fields of activity for you, ranging from extracurricular educational institutions and local authorities to teaching sustainable development issues as part of personnel development in companies.
In the field of education , potential employers include extracurricular ESD learning venues such as environmental centres, museums, national parks, biosphere reserves and geoparks as well as international cooperation actors and non-governmental organisations.
In municipalities, you can work in particular in environmental protection departments or sustainability departments, including agenda offices. Positions as a sustainability officer are also possible, for example in the creation of development strategies to promote (ESD), taking into account municipal potential, or in the establishment and expansion of municipal networks to promote ESD.
As graduates of the degree programme, there are also numerous conceivable employment options for you in commercial enterprises. Employment is conceivable at several levels: as a representative sustainability officer or officer for (digital) (further) education, or more operationally in sustainability management or in human resources departments.
