FRISBI (early bilingual historical and foreign language learning in primary school - German: “frühes historisches und fremdsprachliches Lernen im bilingualen Sachunterricht der Grundschule”) is an inter-university and interdisciplinary network led by Junior Professor Dr Katja Schwemmer (Heidelberg University of Education, Institute of Foreign Languages) and Professor Dr Anabelle Thurn (Freiburg University of Teacher Education, Institute of Political Science and History). The aim of the network is to develop a theoretical model for bilingual historical learning in primary school, to conduct empirical research in this area and to create practical teaching materials.
