Applicants for the M. Ed. special education teaching degree programme are selected on the basis of a score in accordance with Section 20 (2) HVVO, which is determined in points. Your score is the sum of the points resulting from the assessment of your grades in the teacher training examinations and from your periods of service at a public school or special school or activities at a special education institution.
You can obtain information on this and the procedure as a whole from the study office. A selection procedure will only take place if more people apply for the postgraduate degree programme than there are places available.
If you have already passed your first and second teacher training examinations, the score will be calculated on the basis of an average grade calculated from the overall grades of both examinations. Otherwise, the grade of your first teacher training examination is decisive. The (average) grade is assessed as follows:
Your periods of service at a public school or special school or activities at a special educational institution are assessed.
The periods of service or activities of at least 50% of the regular working time are taken into account with one point per half year (school year or calendar year).
A maximum of 5 points can be awarded.
