The Graduate School at Heidelberg University of Education supports early-career researchers with practice-oriented professional development programmes, a wide range of networking opportunities and one-to-one counselling sessions. Individual support from experienced researchers through mentoring and coaching is also available. In this way, we promote academic development, personal growth and successful career paths in educational research.

Forschungssoftware

The Heidelberg University of Education provides all its researchers with a range of research software via various channels.

for all members of the Heidelberg University of Education:

  • USB sticks are available to borrow on request from the University of Education Library (Mon–Fri, 08:30–17:00)
  • The latest version (Analytics Pro edition) is available on PCs 1–9 in Pool Room A234
  • The current version (Analytics Pro edition) is availableon the computers in the Central Library of the Heidelberg University of Education.

for members of the Graduate School: you also have the option of borrowing the software from the PH Library for a maximum of six months using your valid membership card, provided that the membership card covers the loan period.

: f4 Analyse and f4 Transcription are available to all members of the Heidelberg University of Education via the University of Education Library for a maximum of three months.

: The software for qualitative data analysis and mixed methods is available to members of the University on PCs in computer room A234.

: the programme for structural equation modelling can be used on PCs in A234.

for quantitative data analysis:

  • is installed in computer rooms A233–A236 at the Heidelberg University of Education and can be used by up to 15 users simultaneously, regardless of location.
  • Staff at the Heidelberg University of Education can obtain a one-year SPSS licence from the university via the procurement form for their work PC and one additional device. This incurs a one-off annual cost, which is negotiated as part of the licence agreement.
  • is available on four (designated) PCs in the Central Library of the Heidelberg University of Education.

: the reference management software is available under a university licence. All university members (staff and enrolled students) can download and install the programme and generate their own licence key using their PH email address to activate the programme. Instructions on how to do this can be found on the PH Library website.

In the library, the MAXQDA and SPSS programmes are available to all visitors on 5 PCs. Further information is available on site.

In addition to the paid software mentioned above, there are also freely available research programmes, e.g.:

and its user-friendly interface , which enable a wide range of statistical analysis methods and graphical representations,

, which offers functions similar to those of SPSS as well as additional Bayesian statistical analysis methods,
